A pre-Columbian design of silver and green onyx, is featured on these vintage sterling silver or 950 silver earrings from Mexico, circa 1940s.
The lightweight pair are hollow within, and consist of a silver draped design in the form of an ancient Mesoamerican Mayan glyph, with tear shaped dyed onyx stone at center to imitate Mexican jade.
They are screwbacks, measure approximately 1&3/8 inches in length, weigh 10.0 grams combined, and are marked “Silver” and “Mexico”.
