Here is a finely detailed antique sterling silver bar pin, with the Royal Army Medical Corps logo in high relief, from 1906.
The Edwardian era brooch features the winding snake and laurel wreath of the RAMC in a textured 3D design, flanked with hand incised leaves and flowers, applied over a scalloped bar shaped frame.
It measures approximately 1&15/16 inches across, weighs 3.8 grams, has a tube hinge and safety clasp, and a maker’s mark of “C&A” – along with the Birmingham silver hallmark for 1906, which consists of the anchor, lion passant, and letter “g” within the shaped cartouche for that year.
