A plump little duck appears to be waddling along, in this charming sterling silver Mexican figural brooch, featuring a large green stone belly and hand chased details, circa 1940s.
The whimsical novelty pin is in the form of a duck or bird, and consists of “Mexican Jade” aka dyed calcite or aventurine for the body, along with a sterling silver head, wings, tail, and feet with hand stamped texturing.
It measures approximately 2&1/2 inches wide at its widest point, from beak to tail, by 2&2/8 inches high, has a handwrought closure with c-catch, weighs 36.1 grams, and is marked “Hecho en Mexico” with undecipherable mark below, and engraved with numbers 4115.
